Arkansas Backwash Below Keystone Dam

Keystone Lake and Dam is located west of Tulsa. The Arkansas River runs through the dam. When the water is high enough this little backwash appears. In all seasons, wet or dry, it can offer a paintable scene. It is an east-west direction and just a bit farther west of the wash is the eagle sanctuary. There is a raised platform on the north side of the river and you can watch the eagles across the river as they hunt fish, lay eggs, and raise their offspring.
