Been thinking about Venice and looking at my photos.   I remember the day I took the photo I used for this painting.  It was a cool and not very gray day.  The building reflections  shimmered in the canal as the tide was rising.  I was there with good friends and it was a special time.

We used another of my California photos for a class painting recently.  This is mine.  We discussed how much we liked the shapes and basic design in this one.

Would like to be at this site about now.  Our Oklahoma temperatures are scorching with heat alerts for days at a time.  But before long, the weather will cool and be perfect for some plein air work.

WICHITA WILDLIFE REFUGE, A SUMMER DAY

The refuge is down in the southwestern part of Oklahoma and is a marvelous place to paint in any season.

This scene, however, is from a photo taken by one of my class members.  We used it for a class lesson and it was fun to do.
